Conditions For Application
Kuok Foundation Study Awards are offered to needy Malaysian citizens only. Preference will be given to applicants who have good academic qualifications and are active in school.

Categories of Awards
Awards are offered for courses undertaken at postgraduate, undergraduate and Diploma / Certificate level of education.

There are 2 categories of Postgraduate awards, namely the Tun Hussein Onn Memorial Scholarship and Postgraduate Scholarships for research in Science, Engineering and  Technology courses.

The Tun Hussein Onn Memorial Scholarship is offered to commemorate the late Tun Hussein Onn, 3rd Prime Minister of Malaysia.   This is a full scholarship offered for LLM course and is tenable at the University of Malaya. However, where a suitable candidate cannot be found for the LLM course in any one year, a science student may be selected instead at the absolute discretion of the Foundation to do postgraduate research in Science, Engineering or Technology.

One scholarship for Ph.D. and two scholarships for M.Sc. are offered each year for postgraduate research in Engineering, Science and Technology in order to help ease the critical shortage of scientists and researchers in Malaysia. Successful candidates are required to sign a bond to work in Malaysia for the public or private sector for a minimum period of 3 years for M.Sc. and 5 years for Ph.D.

Awards for undergraduate studies are divided into 3 categories, namely study awards for first degree courses at local public Universities; selected local private Universities and Colleges and National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Graduates who already have a first degree are not eligible to apply for these awards to do a second degree.

Diploma and Certificate level study awards are offered to Malaysian students in Malaysian Public Polytechnics, Singapore Public Polytechnics and Tunku Abdul Rahman College.  Study grants are also awarded for MLVK vocational training at non-profit vocational training institutions such as Montfort Boys Town.
