Why Study Loans And Not Grants / Scholarships?
The Kuok Foundation’s main purpose in offering study awards is to give  opportunities to needy students to realize their academic potential. Unlike other scholarships, the Kuok Foundation study awards are not given for the purpose of rewarding academic excellence but to encourage needy and academically capable students to continue and complete their tertiary education.

Advantages of Study Loans
1. Study loans can instill in recipients a sense of self reliance as they are partly financing themselves and not dependent on hand-outs.
2. By repaying their loans faithfully after graduation, loanees can take pride in knowing that they will be helping the Foundation to support other needy and deserving students.
3. Loanees will be keeping in touch with Kuok Foundation while repaying their loans.

Interest
The loans are interest-free and interest is only charged on late payments to discourage default in repayment.

When to pay?
Repayment should commence 6 months after the completion of studies or 1 month after the convocation or graduation ceremony, whichever is earlier.

How to pay?
Repayments shall be made by monthly installments according to the schedule given in the agreement. The schedule may be revised by the Foundation from time to time depending on circumstances or upon the request of the loanee. Requests for deferment or revision of rates must be made on Form Def/Rev. Click here to download form . Such applications must be accompanied by relevant supporting documents.

Monthly payments are due on the first day of the month and payments should reach the Foundation’s office latest by the 26th day of each month failing which interest for late payment will be charged.
